The Dancehouse Theatre is housed in a 1930s Art Deco complex situated in the heart of Manchester on Oxford Road. It's characterful interior and unconventional approach to creative output makes it a must-visit venue in the city. Since opening in 1994, The Dancehouse Theatre has been a home for a vast range of arts in Manchester. As well as playing host to many high calibre international acts, the theatre takes great pride in working with local artists and promoters as a vibrant cultural pulse point for the city. With one of the largest and best stages to perform on in the city, alongside a 420 seated capacity venue with a great view from every seat with a sloped auditorium, the Dancehouse Theatre has one of the most vibrant atmospheres that you will experience in Manchester. Retractable seating transforms the auditorium into a dynamic and engaging space perfect for live music and cabaret style seating. Alongside the theatre, we also provide high end mirrored studio space for a multitude of evening and weekend dance classes for children and adults. We continue to work closely with our sister company, Northern Ballet School, to promote dance in the community. Often described as a "hidden gem" and seen as an underground venue, the theatre is now steadily positioning itself at the forefront of modern Mancunian and Northern culture.

This show is fantastic. The actors and dancers are all excellent and we had a really good day here. The snacks and drinks are very cheap and we hardly spent any money inside even though the kids had popcorn, slush puppies and sweets. If you get chance to see this show i would definitely recommend seeing it. My kids laughed,... More

What a brilliant afternoon watching the pantomime. The cast are great, some brilliant adlibers amongst them and they did a great job of getting the audience involved. May not have the stars of the theatres just down the road but well worth every penny and will be looking to go there next year too.

We visited this place one evening to watch some comic acts. The room we was in was only small and very warm to the point of being uncomfortable. The entertainment was good value for money and the staff were pleasant enough. Its a nice enough venue but the ventilation is a big issue for me

Could imagine it being an old music hall. Quite dated decor but had great seats at the front. Small bar area. Drinks were very expensive but you pay for the convenience of drinking in the venue I suppose.

I have been going for the last three years with my daughter and two grandchildren. we all enjoy the venue , price is so reasonable we would not think of going anywhere else. Talented people . I cant comment on the cafe as we have not used it , I would never say I have been ripped off as some... More

We visited this venue this year and two previous years to see their pantomime, the show was good and the prices for the pantomime were reasonable. Unfortunately the customer service/care is below what it should be, refreshments can be purchased in a tatty cafe, which would be fine if they weren't overpriced, one scoop of powdered hot chocolate with hot... Bianca Del Rio: Rolodex of Hate Comedy Show This show was the first time visiting this theatre and was very impressed with the facilities and auditorium itself. The room is not overly large, so every seat has a great view of the stage leading to a more intimate experience. Great for comedy shows such as this and I imagine a... More

We've been to a few comedy nights here and had an excellent time. The auditorium is an art deco delight. Drinks were cheap for a theatre and we were surprised to find you could drink in the auditorium. Close to Oxford Rd station and in the center of town, so was great as part of our big night out.

We visited the dancehouse theatre for a performance recently. In terms of location, the theatre is in an excellent spot in central Manchester. There are good transport links and several car parks in the vicinity. The theatre itself could do with some modernisation especially in the bar and refreshment areas. Having said that, the seating arrangement within the hall itself... More
