This is great just for somewhere to sit and hang about it. There is the magnificent Wolfson Reading Room for research and Archives+. Cafe's nice, too. Not your typical library - vibrant with pianos and drum kits and all sorts.

This building houses an incredible array of books both modern and historical. Many students still use the reference books. There is also a music library. Well worth a look at a real living library in the day of digital referencing.

Really beautiful and large library with wide variety of services. It hosts even a truly amazing art exhibition. Definitely worth a visit!

if you are in Manchester city please make an effort to visit the library. It has a coffee shop but also so much more. If you go into the music part some one will most likely be playing the piano or check through the newspapers...More

I think we missed a great deal of the library. But couldn't really see where we should / could go... The main central room was lovely, but I couldn't work in there because the echoes were so loud. A beautiful building though.

I enjoyed visiting this library with my niece. Unfortunately the John Rylands library was closed during my visit to Manchester, or I would have gone there, too.

We loved it. Fantastic building, amazing facilities and so good to see so many young people using these facilities. Manchester is such a vibrant city, it was a pleasure to visit.

Don't let the traditional exterior fool you. This library is techno savvy. That said everything is easy to use. Fabulous research opportunities.

Hi, Yes we have the MEN on microfilm. It's on open access and can be viewed anytime, no need to book. It's in Archives+ on the ground floor, behind the cafe.
