Located in a former cinema, the Toy Museum 'Musée du Jouet' welcomes young and old in the heart of Colmar's city-centre. The museum presents a collection of toys from the 19th century to today. Throughout a theme-oriented visit, you'll discover all these toys which marked your childhood. Old teddy-bears to the first Barbie(C) dolls to video games, Playmobil(R), miniatures, robots or little trains, the toys and games exhibited come from all over the world and belong to numerous generations of children. The major museum attraction is a train network which runs over the entire second floor.

Quite a small museum with an interesting collection, suitable for all ages. Exhibits range from model steam trains and layouts, historic toys and games, through "collectables" of the 80`s and 90`s, to modern day. There is an extensive interactive play area where youngsters and families seemed to be making a day of it. what ever your age, you will find... More

Reasonably priced museum at 5euro for entry. Not a massive museum but worth looking round. Took approx 1.5hr for us. Interesting. Note all info is in French but as we can read French that was ok

Although the place is not huge, the last floor is full of surprises. The way each railway station and train is powering on and off - it's an act from a spectacle. Every sequence brings something into light, catching your attention and make you search for details that you've missed. An interesting find for everybody.

I am giving it a 4 star, as it was not really for me, but that does not mean it was bad. Great for little kids, and big kids if you are into Gold drake(?), Star Wars, Lego collection, Barbie models, stuffed bears and stuff like that. They also have a model train on display, which I have to say... More

Having travelled to Colmar from Freiburg for the day and decided against paying what seemed like an exorbitant €13 entry to Unterlinden Museum, this place was a lovely surprise. We finished our round of the city here and spent a good hour and a half recalling distant and in some cases not so distant child hood memories. The railway floor... More

Knew this would be small by the other reviews we read before we visited. Knew it would be good with small children. However, was not expecting such rudeness from some of the staff. Was expecting a full model railway. It's smaller than others we saw the day before in other towns! Nothing in English (ok with this it is France... More

The museum is located on three floors of a building in Colmar old town. The price was 5€ for adult and 3.60 for a kid. Kids under 8 go free. The museum is not too big but it is filled with interesting toys. For me (43) it was a trip down memory lane, but my son (9) just felt weird... More

I was very surprised to enjoy this museum. There are good recommendations but I came with small expectations as you should come also. It has toys from all types and history. Worth a visit.
