Huge shopping street in Bordeaux with all the shops you'd want to see. Great for tourists. At one end near the Opera it's more up market, with shops like Apple etc and the other end more bargain clothes and fast food stores. Easy parking nearby. Wander off the Main Street to find great restaurants.

There was a time when a walk down this pedestrian shopping street was interesting but it now seems to have been taken over by brands. A couple of good restaurants but too many beggars.

Hard to avoid but don't spend a lot of time on this street. Get off the beaten track away from franchised outlets.

Much better shops around the side streets. This is only good if there is something specific you need shopping for, but overall it is crowded and not the best site.

Shopping centers are the same everywere. That's why this district with a lot of small and medium independant shops is much nicer to stroll along in.

Heard all the hype about this street but in essence it's like an outdoor shopping mall with lots of fast food and run off the mill shops. Disappointing-

A wander up and down Rue St Catherine will not disappoint. Brilliant choice of stores, particularly shoe shops. Plenty of clothing and cosmetic options too. A great way to spend a happy couple of hours.

We were looking for some tourist shops and someone recommended this area. We found this to be just an "outside mall". We did enter several but nothing that was really unique to Bordeaux. We did travel probably 70% of the length of it so we took in the majority of it. The only good thing for us was the people... More

In general, I enjoyed my visit to Bordeaux, a Unesco city with many beautiful ancient buildings. I loved most wandering on the rue Sainte-Catherine which was always filled with pedestrians and shoppers. I also enjoyed walking around the city center to see many beautiful ancient buildings of the Palais Rohan, the Grand Theater, the Port Cailhau, the water mirror, etc.... More
