Just imagine have a cup of espresso, or a glass of cold white wine in a truly french café enjoy a breathtaking view. I still reminisce of this. There are three bars sharing adjacent patios/terraces. Price: very reasonable. If you continue walking towards the castle, Le château de Pau, you will spot a Tea Salon (salon de thés). This place... More

A great place to walk along or sit for a few minutes on the benches to give you great views of the Pyrenees in the distance.

Great walking district. We strolled the Boulevard des Pyrenees, (Napoleon recommended it be built) with vistas of the snow capped Pyrenees, overlooks gardens of Palm trees, Eglise Saint Martin and Musée National et domaine du Château de Pau. While in Pau on business. Along the Boulevard, we stopped for espresso, lunch and then a casual conversation with sweet local people.

Love that you can walk alone the walkway and see majestic scenery, turn the corner and venture down old city streets and do a circle route and end up shopping in very modern stores. I was surprised to see people still eating outside in Dec.

Boulevard des Pyrénées is the best place to go for a walk, specially during summertime, when usually the sky is clear and you can have the amazing view of the Pyrénées, sometimes still with snow on the top. Sit down, have a cold beer in one of the pubs located in the boulevard (I always likes The Galway) or have... More

A great start to your visit in Pau, but make sure you walk the old city streets for numerous pleasant surprises.

The short walk along the scenic and atmospheric Boulevard des Pyrenees, between the Parc Beaumont and the Chateau de Pau, is both memorable and stimulating. The Boulevard is built into the cliffs above the Gave (River) de Pau. On the north side are architecturally interesting and historic buildings, with cafes to suit most tastes. The main part of the town... More

The Boulevard des Pyrenees is the road at the south edge of the high town of Pau. On a clear day - and it isn't always - it provides a pretty good panoramic view of the central Pyrenees. There are a couple of cafes and an funicular railway to the lower town. If you are in Pau you would be... More
