We stroll this promenade several times a day, as do the locals. In the morning it is mostly the walker/jogging/running crowd, but at lunch you can find mostly locals eating their "brown bagged" meals on benches, and after work this is the social hang out area. There are several good restaurants around the casino area and a few food trucks... More

This was our first visit to St Jean de Luz, it was November and all the tourist attractions except for the church of St Jean the Baptist were closed for the season. The very helpful young woman in the tourist office suggested that we do a walk. This included passing by all the venues that tourists would be able to... More

Lots of tourist shops, glitzy hotels along the beach and....that's it. A typical touristy beach town.

Not sure what is so great about this. Lots of tacky touris shops. We wanted to like, but could not find anything of interest.

Visited here after reading reviews and a recommendation and couldn't understand what all the fuss was about. Proms in Biarritz and San Sebastián are far superior. We were very disappointed and will never visit again.

Lovely area to walk along and enjoy a little eating drinking and shopping. People watching the best pastime and enjoy the sea view.

Stayed at a hotel near to the beach and on way home, we decided to take a romantic stroll along the beach. On walking up to the boardwalk, we noticed a kiosk was still open and serving alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks, so we bought two soft drinks as it was a warm evening. It was only when I walked... We stayed in Saint Jean de Luz for 4 days in May. Weather was mixed but did allow a couple of beach days. We walked the "boardwalk" numerous times. Great views. Good people watching. Stopped and ate our lunch on the benches. At the south end the walk is quite high above the beach and surrounding town. It is also... More

We were only in Saint Jean de Luz for a few hours and wanted to see the beach. We stopped by the tourist office and she gave us a walking tour that would only take an hour which encompassed the beach area. The beach and boardwalk are clean and well kept. Being only June 1 there were very few people... More
