Doesn't worth visiting

Only 2 rooms to visit, which takes no longer than 15 minutes maximum. Nice view onto st-jean-de-luz port, that's what we found the most interesting. Entry should be free.

Only 2 rooms to visit, which takes no longer than 15 minutes maximum. Nice view onto st-jean-de-luz port, that's what we found the most interesting. Entry should be free.

you pay to see a empty room with a view on the harbour. With little explanation, it's just a waste of money! A real shame!

St-Jean-de-Luze (Basque Donibane Lohizune) is a perfect marriage of Gallic charm and Basque allurement and it is interesting that the biggest event in its long and varied history was the marriage in 1660 of Louis XIV to the Spanish Princess Maire Teresa. This stunning house overlooking the harbour was built by a wealthy 'merchant' ( buccaneer, to be polite ). It was grand enough for the Spanish child bride of Louis X1V to stay in before her marriage. Today it it used mainly for exhibitions by local artists. Very good, but spend some time scrutinizing the house - its' often far more... More
