In our long European holiday this was the only aquarium we visited, mostly due to our little daughter's insistence as she wanted to see the otters. Apart from the otters (which had babies!), however, it is a really excellent aquarium with something for everyone. I was most struck by the fact that virtually all the plants, inverts, anemones, corals, etc.,... More

Nice aquarium with sharks. Lots of them. Different fish from different places. Interesting activity for all the family.

Very well presented and organised attraction. We were lucky to go on a off season Saturday and we could take our time because there was not to many people around. The place is well taken care of.

Allow a full day to benefit from the experience. The main tank enclosure houses Turtles and Sharks, it gives you a get up close and personal experience. Truly breathtaking watching these beautiful creatures.

We trhoroughly enjoyed our visit. The films, the displays and of course the animals are incredible. It would have been great if there was more written in another language, it is a europe wide attraction and yet there is only a very brief synopsis of displays at the end in english. The books in the shop were disappointing, there was... More

Dear Annie, thank you very much for your 5-star review about us. You're right when you say that most information pannels are displayed in French though a short and comprehensive abstract is available in English. The brand new Brittany pavilion proposes more in English with interactives screens and computers. Of course audioguides are available in English, German, and Italian. Generally... More

I dont speak french, but i still could get everything. They explain a lot and show short movies. Everything necessary to understand what is going on in the ocean. I have learned a lot there. I could have spent a lot longer here. I really enjoyed this place

We chose to visit this aquarium as part of our mini tour around Brittany. It did not disappoint us. Car park is next to venue itself and free to park. Entrance fee in line with all others we have visited be it UK or in EU. We live in Plymouth and have the National Marine Aquarium on our doorstep. Have... More

Thank for your 4 star review. I understand that your visit was not this bad! One important thing to consider is that most animals displayed at Océanopolis were born in captivity. Releasing them into the wild would mean no chance of survival. Besides, the seals (and others) have not been there for 20 years, not even for ten years !... More

This is a huge aquarium compared to ones I've visited in England. Although the building externally looks a little run down, the sea life inside was fantastic, with a great variety. Even though it was busy when we were there, the viewing panels into the tanks were all big enough that you could always get to the front to see... More
