This is a must see if you are in the area. It is dominated by the historic keep and enclosed within its own walls. Go on a Wednesday so you will get the bonus of the large open market.

Magnification old City with many historical connections and elegant architecture. Wide range of shops, and a great Wednesday and Saturday market, not to be missed. Ideal for stopover en route south. Great welcome and food at the Hotel de France !

We wondered around visiting all the recommended places... OK but a very long climb an not worth it in hot July. However when we had to leave, a very lively and appealing street bazar started all over the place... this one was really lovely !

Beautiful walled city and well worth a visit, but wear you trainers as the centre of the Royal city is steep and windy but definately worth visiting.
