As a family we visit Paris about once every 2 years and this is a regular stop on our visits. we never tire of this place. It transports you to a different century, with its taxidermy exhibits that range from the tiniest insect or butterfly to buffalo, polar bears and other large specimen. There are very few shops left of... More

Before there were formal museums, people put together cabinets of curiosity, and some apparently continue to do so. Deyrolle makes this possible, the second floor is crammed with stuffed animals(a giraffe!), insects, spiders, butterflies, shells. They are very welcoming to tourists, we bwere there for more than a half hour

This taxidermy shop was started in the 19th century and has an extensive and unique collection of insects, birds and mammals. I found a perfect clay replica of a slug, no less! Definitely make some time for this place when you are near the Musee d'Orsay.

The gardener in me was captivated by this store from the first moment we entered, then we went upstairs! What a fascinating place. The taxidermy is so well done, the animals and birds look like they could start moving. The collections were vast. A really great place to visit.

The first thing I should state is that all animals in this shop have lived in zoos or private collections and have been certified to have died of old age or natural causes. The upper level of Deyrolle is three large rooms crammed with wonderful examples of the taxidermists art. There are lions, buffalo, antelope, zebras, warthogs and many other... More

During my 2 week trip to Paris, this is the one place that I had to visit else the trip would have been a complete disaster. Deyrolle did not disappoint and certainly lived up to my expectations. To be clear, his is a taxidermy shop in Paris, and therefore as a general courtesy to shop owners I recommend not taking... More

Do you like museums? Do you like curiosities like stuffed tigers and meteorites and pinned butterflies and pieces of Mars? You must make a stop at Deyrolle. It's more than a legendary taxidermy shop, it's part of Paris' soul. Google the Deyrolle fire and read about how the city (and beyond) came together to get it back up and running... More

It's hard to describe but the upstairs of this shop is both the most beautiful and strange shop I have ever been to in my life. Must see to believe!

So glad I read the reviews and went here. I've been to Paris many times but this was a completely new and memorable experience. The array of stuffed animals is incredible, from gorgeous lions to birds to insects, and much in between. The animals look almost alive, the taxidermy is so well done. Also, the staff were extremely nice. I... More
