Rue Mouffe is the classic Paris food market street, but there are a lot of tourist shops mixing in, and the experience is somewhat mixed. Don't arrive too early in the morning, since a lot of the places have not had time to set up...More

The rue Moffetard market has been on the street for decades. Most of the whole street used to be given over to food stalls where now there are tourist restaurants and small shops. Still worth a stroll down and a drink at one of the...More

Food. Food everywhere. Something to suit every culture and taste; brasseries, bars, fondue; fresh rabbit, spring rolls, crepes, you name it. Funky and energetic. If that's too much, there are two good-sized, well-equipped supermarkets that somehow fold space to fit in there. ,

We went out with some French friends, and ended up getting kicked out of the bar for no reason. Make sure you're not just 'out to be out' but understand local dynamics!

Great local food shopping area with delicious 'stalls' selling regional French delicacies including a fantastic arrays of goats cheeses, charcuterie , pastries and seasonal produce. We also enjoyed an authentic, good value brasserie lunch (charcuterie plate and French onion soup were both excellent) between shops...More

student bars and lively eateries while the squares are
dominated by historic monuments. The area is defined
by the 800-year-old Sorbonne University, where Latin
once prevailed, and is famous for the Pantheon which
celebrates the great men and women of France. During
