Fast and relaxing.

This is, simply put, a very fast train with fairly comfortable seats. It does get crowded quickly. It is a nice smooth ride. I have used the TGV 5 years in a row for various... read more

I have had to wait to write this review as TA only allows one review of the same thing in a 3 month period. See my other review for the journey from Paris to Nice. This journey was another matter. We were advised that there was a strike but that our train was still going and as we had reserved... More

We took the TGV on a return trip from Paris Est to Strasbourg this week. I love travelling this way. The stations are in the middle of the city. There's no arduous check in/security/baggage procedures. You just show up and walk on. The trains run on time, usually to the second. The seats are comfortable, with lots of leg room.... More

Took the TGV from Gard Lyon to Avignon 2 weeks ago and Avignon to CDG airport today. Really liked it! Very fast. Very quiet. Ticket purchase easy. First class is worth the very nominal extra cost. Only disappointment was food choices. Eat beforehand you go. Basically just snacks and minimal food. Great way to get from Paris to the country.

This is, simply put, a very fast train with fairly comfortable seats. It does get crowded quickly. It is a nice smooth ride. I have used the TGV 5 years in a row for various travels with students from or to Paris from various towns in France. With a lot of students, luggage space can be difficult to find, so... More

A very convenient of traveling inter-cities via the TGV! Comfortable seats and food vendor inside train but the toilets are not very clean for some trains. Better than driving as you can sit back relax and enjoy the views outside.

We took the TGV train from CDG to Beaune (via Lyon) and from Dijon to Paris Gare de Lyon. Traveled first class from CDG, and second class from Dijon. Wasn't much difference between first and second class, hence the change on the second journey. It was fine, not particularly fast (several delays) and not enough places for luggage on the... More

Do not, under any circumstances, book your French rail travel with SNCF Voyages. We made this mistake in July. They were to send us our rail tickets from Montpelier to Argeles, and failed to do so. At Montpeleier station an appallingly rude and self-righteous official told us that the tickets had certainly been sent. It turned out within minutes that... More

Ok. I am in France to BE in France. Vueling or Easyjet are ok, I am well versed at air travel; so even though I am NOT fluent, (in anything really), I believe that good manners, enthusiasm, & sincere attempts to butcher someone else's native language go a long way (as well as some skill at charades, a very strong...
