This is a lovely area to spend an hour or two walking around, enjoying the ambience and admiring the architecture. I walked here from Bastille. Just across the pedestrianised bridge to the Ile de la Cite is Notre Dame. There is a cafe where you...More

This is so conveniently located, has some nice shopping and restaurants, a couple of sweet churches, and feels very homey. We had a nice river view, and a wonderful bakery right across the street. I went there every day for breakfast and loved the apricot...More

There are two islands in the River Seine at the heart of Paris and the Ile Saint-Louis is one of them, the other being the Ile de la Cite to which the Ile Saint-Louis is connected by the Pont Saint-Louis. Four other bridges connect the...More

Ile Saint-Louis is one of two natural islands in the Seine river, in Paris and connected by four bridges. Loved walking through this area. Great little shops. Visited Notre Dame, stopped for ice cream at Berthillon and went to the Perfume Museum Fragonard.

This quaint island, dotted with lovely shops and restaurants, is just a stone's throw from Notre Dame and is a great place to stroll and take in the flavor of the neighborhood. It's much less crowded than nearby Ile de la Cite.

Very quaint and not a far stroll from the Notre Dame. Reduced tourists here and easily able to walk around plenty of cafes to choose from. Stroll through to Le Marais.

Georges Pompidou lived here. Many wealthy people inhabit these dwellings, looking out at the river. Yet, it is filled with much to see. Ice cream, cafes, bistros, creperies. BUt one of my favorite things is to walk down the steep stairs to the quays along...More

On both our visits to Paris we have stayed in apartments on the Ile Saint-Louis, and will hopefully do so on our third visit. It's a beautiful, charming place to stay. Very central, yet amazingly quiet. Some say it's lost it's soul to tourism, I...More

Two islands sit in the middle of the Seine at the very
heart of Paris. The more majestic one, Ile de la Cité,
sparkles with history. This is the birthplace of
Paris, the home of the Gothic Sainte-Chapelle, and the
site of the prison where Marie Antoinette was held
before her execution. Tourists flock to see the iconic
Notre Dame and the beautiful bridges that straddle the
Seine. Ile Saint-Louis, the more provincial island,
