This is a very pleasant surprise indeed, a lovely area with chequer like structures and columns and then a manicured garden surrounded by arcades leading to the streets behind.

It is enclosed in the interior of the buildings so from the streets surrounding you might not know it is there, or that you are allowed in. Be brave and explore any open routes and you can be rewarded with a beautiful place like this! Besides the beautiful gardens there are places for coffee and a very fancy restaurant, both... More

These gardens are located close to the Louvre, inside the old Royal Palace and behind the Comedie Francaise. Access is gained through rue de Montpensier. The inside arcades of the palace house a number of small stores, but also some of the best known designer boutiques, while the gardens are a quiet oasis of peace, just steps from busy and... More

Probably the most "chic and interesting" park and garden in Paris. so "French in its Style" build in 1633. - jardin à la française (rather small size) - promenades (x4 in total) and busy commercial street on the Western side (rue de Richelieu or Rue Sainte Anne worth a visit definitely) - beautiful restaurants and cafés - small park with... A lovely park/garden in the middle of a busy city. There are lovely gardens where both tourists and locals go to sit, there are nice pillars/ artwork and some fancy shops on either side. It is a beautiful area somewhere to take time out for peace to enjoy the fountains.

While this park does have some modern artistic and architectural aspects, it also has a quaint pre-revolutionaly opulence. Well worth a walk through or a sit down by one of the fountains. You could easily imagine Marie Anoinette and her courtiers walking around in their huge dresses.

Lovely place to walk around away from the crowds right in heart of the city. So easy to put oneself into a distant era of bouffant dresses, powered wigs and swooning after D'Artangnan
