We wanted to visit Musee d'Orsay on a Tuesday - and so did hundreds of other people, the pass holder line was as long as the ticket line. So we decided instead to wander over to Musee des Arts Decoratifs and I am glad we...More

We loved the art Nouveau and Art Deco displays. Amazing glass pieces and furniture. This is only a small part of the museum. There are several floors with displays starting back in time until the present. Lots and lots a beautiful pieces to see. No...More

We spent a day to visit this amazing museum and we enjoyed every minute of it!!!! There are so many displays and a lot of objects which are organised by theme and periods and that makes this museum very interesting and varied (every room is...More

I went here to see the exhibition "Trésors de sable et de feu: verre et cristal aux arts décoratifs 16e - 21e siècles" at the recommentation of a friend. I highly recommend the free headphones because without them I found the exhibit a bit confusing....More

I feel this was an average museum. They have furniture and many decorative accessories from the last three centuries. The museum was a little difficult to navigate because it was spread over 9 floors and you have to use two sets of elavators. I felt...More

How can such a collection of wonderful exhibits give out a feeling that lacks any colour or excitement? These are some of the greatest designs from the past 300 years or so and if you know their history they're amazing. But all the information is...More

The beignng of September is evidently a bad time to visit many museums in Paris. It seems that major exhibits just took place, and major sections of the museum are empty. The old standard exhibits remain, but the lack of main and second floor exhibits...More

If you are drawn to museums that celebrate the decorative arts like the V&A in London, this is a spectacular one to enjoy and without the sometimes ridiculous crowds of the next door Louvre or Musee D'Orsay. The selections from the middle ages through modern...More

I went expecting to stay for 90 minutes and stayed for four hours. A magnificent museum in all respects, with objects beautifully displayed and clearly explained. Excellent temporary exhibits as well. There were plenty of other people, but nowhere was there a sense of crowding.

Louvre / Palais-Royal
From the majestic Louvre to the regal Palais-Royal,
this neighbourhood oozes luxury. The grand arches
along Rue de Rivoli are shadowed by mosaics in front
of decorated vitrines and hotels. Place Vendôme is
lined with the world’s best jewelers and their
glittering window displays. Every other establishment
has someone to open the door for you or park your car.
You can spend hours gazing at its haute couture shops

Hi, we will be visiting Paris in mid Feb and I would like to know if the Musée des Arts Décoratifs is worth visiting for the fashion and textile displays. My daughter is very interested in fashion design und unfortunately the YSL Foundation and the Galliera are both closed during our visit. Thanks
