I will not say too much, the crowds outside Notre Dame felt more intimating than those elsewhere. There seemed to be a thousand tourist bridal couples having fake wedding photos taken outside. It felt alittle anticlimactic at even quite a close point , from the...More

Since I was a youngster in the mid-60's I always make it a point to return for the Cathedral Notre-Dame and at least ogle over the stained glass windows from inside. For me this visit is more of a "Must Do" pilgrimage and I just...More

This was a fantastic tour. The architecture is supposed to be one of the best remaining of the French Gothic style. It is from the medieval period in history, and I felt awed by its presence. I is absolutely a must see!!

Loved this. Free to get in too. Spend some time looking up - it's definitely worth it. Don't be put off by the queue - it goes down very quickly.

Went to Notre Dame specifically for an organ recital which was most enjoyable (I like organ music). It was held in the evening and the setting sun gave good atmosphere to one of the world's great Cathedrals.

Ile de la Cite / Ile Saint-Louis
Two islands sit in the middle of the Seine at the very
heart of Paris. The more majestic one, Ile de la Cité,
sparkles with history. This is the birthplace of
Paris, the home of the Gothic Sainte-Chapelle, and the
site of the prison where Marie Antoinette was held
before her execution. Tourists flock to see the iconic
Notre Dame and the beautiful bridges that straddle the
Seine. Ile Saint-Louis, the more provincial island,

Ile Saint Louis is just behind the cathedral. The Eiffel Tower is over near trocadero so not close to the cathedral. The jardin du Luxembourg is a pleasant walk south from the cathedral.
