Nice and cosy place

Went to Divan du Monde to attend a concert early July 2015. Temperature was up to 38C that day. Staff made sure that the bar would be open for people to be able to rehydrate and... read more

Terrible experience! my group and I queued for half an hour to be told rudely that they weren't going to let us in because we were english (passive racism). I will say this was during the euro football finals where allegedly England fans had been causing trouble in the country. But in our case we were quiet, polite whilst queuing,... More

Nothing good about this experience. Very rude staff, as usual. Place not great. Would not spend any money on this place...

Fantastic atmosphere for a Low gig I went to here. Fair bar prices. Small intimate venue in former art nouveauish theatre.

Went to Divan du Monde to attend a concert early July 2015. Temperature was up to 38C that day. Staff made sure that the bar would be open for people to be able to rehydrate and also gave out bottles of water to the people in front of the stage or who could not access the bar. A/C was on... More

First of all the Orphaned Land were amazing but the whole organization was bad... It was raining and they wouldn't let us in, the doors opened later that they should, the bouncer was rude but that is common everywhere. The place it self is nice, shame it took them so long to set and start the show especially between bands.

I live in Montmartre and went so long without visiting this club because I just didn't know about it. I've spent many nights in Montmartre, in Irish bars or the typical tourist dross, but this place is a lovely location, cheap entry (€5 when I went on a Saturday - bargain!) - the drinks aren't cheap but as good as... I travelled to Paris to see Wednesday 13 on the 22nd November. The venue is in the nice Montmartre area and I stayed in the Hotel Andre Gill just across the road. It's a nice small size, probably 500 or so capacity I'm guessing. There's an upstairs balcony which you can go up to if you like. The stage was... More

Visiting Paris ? Check out the calendar of this venue on their website - and pick the performance of your choice. There is a wide variety of acts favoring this old theater when they pass through Paris. I estimate the maximum capacity at 450 people - so a really intimate experience. Two negative issues to mention... AC does not seem... More

This was a great venue in Paris the staff were so helpful from the door staff to the bar staff. The upstairs area is a great place to see a band as it is not as loud and not as crowded.

This is where the likes of Baudelaire and Toulouse Lautrec visited in eras gone by. As a book/art lover I just had to visit since I am a book and art fan. Here, Rue Des Martyrs 9th arrondissement is a definite stop for all Indie rock/rock n roll and punk lovers - even electropop and house lovers will like this... More

Staying in Montmartre

Neighbourhood Profile
Montmartre is a bustling mix of cultures, colours, and styles which changes from one street to another. Ride the funicular (or, for a real workout, climb the steps) to the sublime Sacré-Coeur (Basilica of the Sacred Heart) with its inspiring view of the city. The church is surrounded by provincial streets and piano bars where tourists, artists, and street entertainers thrive. At the foot of the hill, Boulevard de Clichy features shops not intended for young audiences, while residences are scattered to the north and east. The diverse population includes a large part from the Arab-speaking world, Africa, and Turkey. It’s a corner of Paris full of life and dynamism with charms that can’t be found anywhere else.
