This was an interesting complex of buildings, including a central area of grounds. There is quite a bit of scaffolding and renovation work being done on the central entrance, and it was interesting to see buildings for Cavalry and Artillery schools. There is also a decent view of the Eiffel Tower from this site.

Located a walk away from the Eiffel Tower, the military academy still breathes the atmosphere of Napoleon's military campaigns, with iconic entrance gates for cavalry and artillery. The current military occupying the site didn't look to keen on guests, so didn't try to get inside.

I was honored to get to attend a conference here host by the French Air Force. The building are fantastic and full of history, with an amazing view across the Champs du Mars to the Eiffel. Even for those who cannot get inside, it is worth seeing as you walk past it and on toward other nearby French sights

The building and grounds go back forever, much of the history goes to Napoleon and further. It is quite the labyrinth of grounds and buildings, you can tour it with just a passport, but without a guide or some knowledge of the grounds, it can be confusing, if you have the opportunity, it is worth the time for a quick... The Ecole Militaire is a huge complex of buildings located opposite the Eiffel Tower, at the other end of the Champ de Mars. The most famous graduate of this military school was Napoleon Bonaparte himself. The architecture of this historic building is truly impressive. Its front facade is beautifully decorated with Corinthian columns and majestic statues. I especially like the... More

Depending on where you are staying in Paris, I would take a walk around the Ecole Militaire (Military School) while in the area for the Eiffel Tower. The building is set prominently at the southeastern end of Champ de Mars, giving military students one of the most amazing views of the Eiffel during drills. It is now used for war... More

The building itself is amazing but the history it holds is incredible! It takes time to see everything and pause to appreciate it but it is very worth it.
