On my most recent trip to Paris, we wanted to take in a cabaret show. We saw an Ad for this venue. I tried to email / phone / and left several messages. No one returned our messages. Even when in France, I called from our Hotel room in Paris and no answer. There website is under construction. We finally ended up going there in person and booked at the door. 160 Euros later... We got terrible food, better of the street, the show was a joke. No talent, just going through the routine. and the wine tasted like one week old cranberry juice. Carrousel de Paris was a Groupon deal and a nightmare to organise. Left countless messages to try to make a reservation - no return phone call. Enlisted the aid of a French friend who left 3 messages over three days - no return phone call. Eventually she called the main number from their website to complain about the lack of return phone calls to make a reservation -meanwhile 8 days have gone past and I am getting anxious that we can't get a reservation for this "spectacle". Finally my friend was able to secure a date - almost 3 weeks after I oririginally tried to make a reservation. The first comedian, an Elvis impersonator, should have stuck to singing and not telling jokes (he had quite a good Elvis voice); the shadow hand puppet entertainer was very good; the main entertainment act and comedian was clearly very funny - but went on for too long; the MC was an entertaining fellow who kept it all together I wouldn't consider buying any drink in this place - just make your "cup of champagne" do. Here's a nasty little rort: on entry it is "obligitoire" to check all jackets/coats at E2 each! E49 for two people and a measly "cup of champagne" about 100ml in a plastic "champagne flute" - it's about all it's worth. It's certainly not worth E49 per head without dinner!…
