Impressive building and garden but… The exhibition was a sheer disappointed! I felt as we paid for nothing. At least we enjoyed very much the architecture of the building designed By Jean Nouvel. Go for the building not for the current exhibition.

This space isn't too centrally located, but from Montparnasse it's just about a 10 minute walk. You might think you're going the wrong way since you'll end up in the middle of a residential area, but it's worth the walk if you like Cartier-Bresson and enjoy photography.

The Henri Cartier-Bresson Foundation's exhibits play an important role preserving the photographer's work as well as introducing visitors to temporary exhibits in its rather smallish space. My two star rating is mainly due to disappointment at the near absence of a permanent collection by Cartier-Bresson. Perhaps I was wrong to expect one. Temporary exhibits can be hit or miss at... Out of the way but worth visiting if you have the time. We knew nothing about the special exhibit before we went, but it was excellent (Francesca Woodman). There were very few of Bresson's photos on display.

Wonderful classic photographs by Cartier Bresson and exciting temporary exhibitions (saw Jeff Wall) in a beautiful but hard-to-find building

My boyfriend and I visited this gallery to see a particular exhibition. We found the locations to be a little unusual, but the space itself is very nice, especially the top floor! We weren't particularly impressed with the exhibition we saw, but that's not the gallery's fault of course.

I went to the Cartier-Bresson Foundation expecting to see a lot of his work. Unfortunately there is a very small collection housed here on the top floor and the other exhibit was a rather exoticized collection of photographs about Calcutta (the French love Calcutta). The building is quite interesting and it is worth a quick visit if you happen to... More

This is really interesting little space with a very hospitable staff and interesting exhibitions. We saw a Pieter Hugo exhibition called Kin which was just excellent. The video by the photographer in the permanent gallery at the top was also helpful. Definitely a great place to visit in Paris if you get tired of the crowds in the 1st.

The kind of intimate art experience that cities/countries outside NY are so good at: sincere, quality exhibitions without all the hoopla. You don’t need a million dollar space to have a thoughtful art experience. They feature temporary exhibits on 2 or 3 floors, and a permanent Cartier-Bresson installation on the top floor. FYI: lots of stairs and the lift isn't... More
