Wonderful array of food both fresh and cooked with tantalising smells and images. 6 rows of stalls over 200m or more. Fabulous! Plus there's clothing, household items, jewellery, plants and flowers. Love it! All it needs is some seating and coffee.

The market stretches across several blocks starting from Place de la Bastille. We found the best produce and scarf prices here among the 3-4 small markets we visited. Mainly produce, meat, seafood, cheese, clothing, small home goods, and some prepared foods. No antiques.

Not really sure what I was expecting, but pleasantly surprised. The market is a traditional farmers market aimed primarily at the locals. Use the experience to wander among the locals and try local delicacies - olives, bread, cheese etc Aim to go early as by...More

This market happened to be right outside of our room, so we went. It was extensive and so cheap! We bought some breakfast and some macaroons, and everything was incredible and well priced. It is a must do for anyone looking to immerse themselves in...More

Many of the markets are closed on Sunday, this one is open and was lovely to stroll through. Prices are reasonable, produce great and variety was amazing. Come hungry and you will not be disappointed.

This is a nice food market with all kinds of different stands - fruit, meat, sea food, cheese, etc. Nice place to start an early Sunday morning (when most of the city is still sleeping...)

Bastille Market is more marketed for locals as there was a lot of fresh produce, meat and bread. We were hoping to get some good market food but found there wasn't too much food to eat on the spot. My husband and I shared a...More

We visited with a chef to select the produce and seafood we would cook with for our class. Visiting with a local is wonderful -- we learned quite a bit! All produce signs must tell where each item was grown -- that's interesting to check...More

Bastille / Oberkampf
Bastille and Oberkampf are lively parts of town made
for entertainment. During the day rows of unassuming
bars welcome customers for a bite or a drink, but it’s
at night this area really comes to life. Students and
young professionals fill the busy bars around Bastille
and Oberkampf. At Place de la Bastille, crowds flock
to the Opéra Bastille in the evening and groups wait
for coveted tickets during the day. Towards

I was there in early December. It was super fun and filled with holiday foods/gifts in addition to the usual treats! I'll be back this November!
