The Pont Valentre is the immediately recognisable feature of Cahors. It's a beautifully maintained structure, hundreds of years old, and from it there are beautiful peaceful views of the river Lot and Cahors town. The bridge is only accessible on foot - no veicles allowed these days, and is close to places to sit and enjoy the peace and quiet... More

Lovely old bridge and not overly busy. Nice tranquil views over the river and just a short walk from town centre. From here you can take footpath back around the river to the newer town bridge.

The river and bridge were quite tranquil on the morning of our visit. Great reflections of the bridge on the water. A pretty place to relax.

A lovely old bridge, what more can you say? It's a short stroll from the town centre, free and you can stroll across it at leisure as there are no vehicules.

This is deservedly one of the most frequently posted sites in Cahors. It is striking and definitely worth a visit.

After standing over the Lot River for over 700 years and after many invasions in the history, the bridge is still standing strong and beautiful. It is only for pedestrians, so do take advantage to walk across it and enjoying the views on either side of the river. On the downstream side, the river water level goes down across a... More

This (and the cathedral) was the main reason we stayed in Cahors. Wait until the evening time and the lighting is just perfect for lovely blue skies and reflections of the bridge in the river. Walk along the bridge and then head down to the river side and get those pictures taken. Wonderful, wonderful bridge on a par with Cordoba... More

Very picturesque. Easy to walk across and lots of opportunities for photographs. Unfortunately,as in many places in France, explanations in English don't exist and unless you have done your own research you will be left feeling you have missed out on something.

Hi and thanks about your review, Le Pont Valentré is the Cahors's wonder, built in 14th century (not 11th) ;) History buffs will enjoy for sure, but in general everyone enjoy this amazing bridge. See you soon. More
