Cutie Museum of Asian and Egyptian culture/history

Nice house of Moorish style in a quiet garden, where you can appreciate the treasures brought by Mr Labit after his travels in the 19th century.

I like museums, I like mysteries and I like mummies! Hier you can find all the three. But one thing was not nice at this museum. Not turist friendly. Everthing is written only in French. Anyway for me it was worth it the visit. The entrance it is only 4€.

We gave our 12 and 14 year old children the task of finding sights in Toulouse and this is one of their choices. My 14 year old daughter just loved this museum. It had amazing and extremely interesting artefacts and even an actual mummy with a mini 14 minute video all about her! My children just lapped all of it... More

Nothing can prepare to this step on to another continent ! Considerng the size of the city, the collection is unique ! Open all the drawers on the base floor, these Japanese drawings are unique and though most seem familiar, others might sketch out a singular face of Japan !

An interesting array of artefacts in a small and unassuming building outside of the centre of Toulouse. The Asian part of the ground floor was the best exhibit with some interesting pieces however my reason for the lower mark is because there were no descriptions in English meaning we couldn't fully appreciate the history and purpose of the objects we... Small but packed full of interesting artifacts from the Far East and Egypt (good mummy and video with English subtitles). All the descriptions are in French with no English translation- this is a problem with most museums in Toulouse. Good for an hour or so's visit- 4 euros to visit.

This museum is rather fascinating, though I'd recommend you read an account of George Labit's life before you go. I'll say no more, but it'll make the visit that much more worthwhile.

This lovely compact Moorish building has two floors housing the private collection of a Victorian Touloussain (who appears to have died or been killed in some mysterious way). Georges Labit did a lot of traveling in India, China, Japan, Thailand and Egypt to buy items for sale in his family's huge department store. He built this museum to house the... More

Took us a while to find it, the house is most unique in it's architecture, but even more unique is this collection of Egyptian and middle eastern arts and artifacts that are very ancient. A small entry fee, but well worth the price for this two floor collection.

A great little museum. Lots of excellent little exhibits if you are into this sort of art. What really stood out was it did seem amazingly over-manned though - I guess that's France today.
