Situated near the British Military Cemetery of Bayeux, the Memorial Museum of the Battle of Normandy narrates the battles which took place in Normandy after the D-Day landings, between 7th June and 29th August 1944. The collections of military equipment, the diorama and the archival films allow the visitor to grasp the enormous effort made during this decisive battle in order to restore peace in Europe.

Having visited a number of 2nd World War museums which tend to exhibit the same items, this one did differentiate itself by having more information on the "Generals" from both sides.

Great museum with interesting memorabilia and good exhibits. We enjoyed seeing the tanks, planes and also tracks for roads. Very vivid and more than just guns and bullets!

Very humbling to see all the men and women who lost their lives for us! We took the Bayeux Shuttle tour and all four of us were amazed by all the information and sites.

Museum has some good exhibits, well laid out and is very informative. The entry price was very reasonable. Museum is located close to the British & Commonwealth war cemetery which is a 2 minute walk away.

A lot of very interesting artifacts and a very linear narrative of the war and particularly the Normany area and the invasion.

I was quite surprised to see so many positive reviews of this museum: while it offers an extremely detailed account of the Battle of Normandy, day-by-day in fact, the whole place feels extremely dated and my partner, whose knowledge of this particular phase of the...More
