We discovered this place by chance. We took a ride on the small road train and part of the ride was a circuit of the lovely gardens. It looked so nice that we returned on the Wednesday of our visit to Cherbourg. This was fortuitous as it turns out Wednesday is free entry to the Museum. The gardens are lovely... More

The park is very small (you can walk it in 15 minutes), but not only is it very well designed but it's also very well maintained. There a big green house with lots of exotic plants and trees, fountains and small ponds. Very restful.

This little park is a bit off the beaten track, and the Cherbourg streets here are laid out at odd angles. However, once found it is quite intriguing, with room for children to play. It was a damp but sunny October day, wet underfoot and everything had a slightly forlorn air but there is a huge range of plants and... More

We have visited Cherbourg many times, I had read about these gardens and we went out of our way to find them. They were beautiful on a dull day and must be even better in the sunshine. Unfortunately it was late in the day and the museum was just closing. We will return. There is a small charge to go... More

A green gem in a busy port. We took a picnic breakfast, as did others, and sat and absorbed the tranquillity. A great way to start our day!

A small beauuuuutiful park with a myriad of plants and amazing old trees which belonged to a former mayor of Cherbourg. A 10-minute walk from the pont tournant.

Cherbourg is a lovely little town but there is very little out of the ordinary to see as a tourist. However Parc Emmanuel Liais is a really pleasant little oasis in the centre of the town and is easily missed. I was lucky enough to be there when the rhododendrons were in full bloom and really enjoyed the peaceful seclusion... More

It's like travelling back to a Victorian eccentric's parlour and study, several times over. There are archaeological exhibits from almost every continent, and hundreds of stuffed and preserved animals from many countries too. Fascinating.

After walking up the mountain to see Roule Mountain, it was very relaxing to take a walk in the park. It was a lot bigger than expected and we spent 45 minutes enjoying it. The flowers, birds and ponds were well maintained and very beautiful. Its worth a few minutes and its free.
