visit if you have time left after visiting the numerous unesco sites of Arles. the bridge of interest is indeed quite unique and must be pretty sturdy to last until now and still standing. it was considerate of the tourism pple to put up the picture of the painting by van gogh of the bridge so that you can feel... Frankly I do not recommend to visit this unless you are a big fan of Van Gogh. Especially without a car/bike, you will have to pass through an industrial area and walk like forever to get there.

Stumbled on this while seeking somewhere to picnic, saw a signpost then realised what it was. It is not the actual bridge in the painting but a reasonable copy in the same, very unprepossessing rural location by the river to the south of Arles, not far from industrial sites. But it was charming in its own way, and a good... More

Not an attractive area. Not "well-groomed." Never the less, there is a spiritual aura as you view the bridge. When we were there about a half dozen other people came and went. Conversation was minimal. We all just wanted to transport ourselves to the time when Van Gogh painted his picture. The bridge just provided the opportunity to do that... More

The bridge is one of many connections in Arles to Van Gogh. After seeing the collection of the Van Gogh Foundation in old town Arles, this was a natural side trip. Surroundings have more mature vegetation and the canal/waterway/locks have altered the setting, but still worthwhile. Walkable from downtown, but easier by car.

Approximately 3km outside the town, the bridge is reached by a walk along a road next to the canal. Well signed from Arles centre. The canal route is bordered by a main road one side and some industry on the other, so not a typical walk in the country; however it was relatively traffic free, and part of a national... More

You need some form of transport to head to the bridge . It is a tourist destination . Buses stop here . Not easy to navigate to the river for other angles of the bridge . Amazing it is still here.

This is a favorite Van Gogh of mine, so it was wonderful to see this site. There are similar bridges in the area, but of course, this is THE ONE! Worth making the effort to get to, as it is out of the city center.

This bridge is just a few miles outside of the city of Arles. Probably the easiest way to reach it is by car can reach it by car or you can have a good walk from the city centre.

i found this a little tricky to locate until I found someone who knew the area and art history. I enjoyed the walk and once I got closer I located signs pointing me in the right direction
