Great place, impressive buildings but very very crowded. Absolute no access for wheelchairs as the roads are paved with stones and therefore terrible. All you can do is to sit at a terrace and enjoy the view. Really disappointed

This is a type of architectural structure where you feel there could be a phantom around the next corner. The castle is massive and shows clearly who had money, political power and positon in those days. Besides from being religious icons, I don't think the...More

Spend the extra two euros to get the audio guide as it really brings the experience to life. Fascinating place and it is very well organised. Loved it and fantastic views from the top

It is a big impressive building and if you want to know who built which bit when then you will have fun. I had hoped to get a better understanding of the politics and circumstances around the schism of the Catholic Church which led to...More

Nice exterior. Couldnt be bothered to stand in line to see the inside. Very grand obviously. Walked around the surrounding gardens and saw the view which was nice.

I was expecting more from the Pope's palace. The building is interesting, but the visit of the palace drags on and is not suitable for children or people with difficulty walking.

This place was attractive to us because of its history, we enjoyed the visit mostly because of its history more than because of what you can see there, not much of original furniture or anything left, but we thought it was worth going and we...More

The view as you come around the corner and first see the Palais des Papes was amazing. It was completely worth the side trip from Marseille just to see it, but you do not need all day in Avignon. I booked my return ticket for...More

Easy. You would get near the Pont d Avignon and if you go to the bridge information shop you can buy a ticket to go on the bridge and straight into the Palais. Enjoy.
