Nice square but not extraordinary picturesque. Visit this place to have a lunch or a drink, sit outside and watch people walking around. In general, the whole atmpsphere is the square is not something attractive or picturesque, just a big square full of restaurants.

There are loads of places to eat but be choosy. This is a great place to sit outside with a drink watching the world go by. There was a two tier carousel when we were there. The kids loved it.

With enough restaurants to choose from you're bound to find outdoor seating where you can enjoy an afternoon café or glass of wine before resuming your activities.

The Place de l'Horloge is a very nice square with lots of nice buildings, a carroussel, restaurants and bars. It's a nicespot to walk around and to get something to eat or even a coffee.

unfortunately the mayor decided this year to ban the so so nice Christmas market - the plaza is always very nice to visit though.

Full of life. It must be something amazing in the tourist season. It was still quite busy and had beautiful views. Full of restaurants and shops. The bells still work in the clock tower.

Clearly the social center of the city of Avignon, this wonderful old square sports a number of restaurants facing the Hotel de Ville and the Opera House. We were fortunate to be there during the Christmas season when each day seemed to add new twinkling lights, programs on a small stage, wonderful music in the Opera House, and a merry-go-round... There is always something happening in Place de Horloge. The area is fun and exciting. All the shopping streets spin off from this center. It also has clean public restrooms. The Pope's Palace is right there and other historic sites.

Nice central vibrant place, really the sud of France, stands with souvenirs, many restaurants around, a carousel for children, many other attractions, good ice-creams, sometimes also small streetmarkets with many things of the Provence.
