This really isn't worth the trip. It's outside the main port and centre of Nice and promises to be a nice sojourn but sadly is a disappointment. Some of the guide books even say that this museum is free (Lonely Planet, Provence & the Cote...More

I appreciated the mosaic mural on the outside wall and the reflection glass murals and floors. I am not much a "follower" of Matisse.

This museum was small and underwhelming. Not at all worth the €10 fee. The museum was going to be closed the next week which was fully disclosed online. However, when we visited they were already taking down the main display for the closure. Even with...More

Although the entry fee for this museum was only €10, we still felt it was poor value for money. The exhibits were a few bits of paper cut out by Matisse but not used, and a few doodles. Extremely underwhelming. Not worth the visit.

I love Matisse's work and this was a wonderful opportunity to see it in a "concentrated" form. I enjoyed every minute of the visit! Art lovers should not miss it!

The Matisse Museum is worth the visit. Firstly, on its own. Secondly because it is right beside the Archeological Museum of Cimiez and the Cimiez Monastery. You can spend a whole morning or afternoon and see all three. The Matisse Museum has a good range...More

Very expensive for the amount of works included. Staff evasive and unfriendly. Not worth the visit. Under renovation continually it seems. Half the museum closed.

Interesting history of Matisse and his works with a good range of art and sculptures from throughout his career. In MAY 2017 there are works underway and parts of the gallery are not accessible which cuts down the amount available to see but it is...More

The small collection of exhibits would be better off amongst a larger collection of similar modern art. There was no café facility within or outside the property - very disappointing and inconvenient.

Is the museum still under construction? Are all his works on display? Which ones are not? I am staying at Regence hotel How do I get to Museum? What is admission? Is admission tied to Chagall museum as well? Is there a time to visit which is less busy on Friday? Thanks for your time. JK Florida
