This historic part of Nice feels like a medieval village with narrow streets curving between old buildings with red-tile roofs, small restaurants and open-markets.

We visited this part of Nice and although the old town certainly has lots of charm... the French people are soooo dirty. The streets smell of urine and filthy. Prices are quite expensive, which is to be expected in a tourist area. I was just...More

We have been to Nice a few times and always visit old town for its charming small streets with little shops, many cafes, and gelato galore. It is lively with a party atmosphere. Not to be missed.

Great place to visit in the evening. Plenty of restaurants overflowing in the streets. Very cosmopolitan. Mot restaurants are average in quality, but prices are usually reasonable.

You can wonder around the tiny streets of Old Nice any day. The architecture is astonishing. There are many candy and flower stores, very colorful. Try to cover this part of Nice during a hot day.

If you visit Nice take the chance to visit Vieille Ville. Take a break from the beach and wander through Old Town's narrow streets and alleyways. The French architecture, the colors of the houses, the squares, the shops and the café/restaurants will offer you an...More

Lots of lovely streets and buildings. Markets on most days then moved away to make space for all the restaurant tables. Lots of places to eat. Live music in some areas.

Old town is an easy place to just get lost walking up and down the streets. Quaint shops and good food, wine are readily available the entire way. Classic example of residential-retail so popular in vertical city living

My wife and I are looking to escape the Chicago winter and visit Nice from the beginning of January thru the beginning of March. Are there any long turn apartment rentals in Old Town and what is the weather like in that time frame? Thanks.

Sorry for the delay. It was chilly when we were there the first part of May. So I'm sure it would be cold during your time frame. Would suggest looking at average weather temps online. Jacket, scarf and pants were needed. We... More

Staying 4 nights: where is an affordable lodging (central Nice) area for 2 adults with easy access to car rental (is that at train station?) walk or bus to train station area? What can we expect an Uber to cost to go from central area to Chagall museum? Is it walkable (downhill?) to return from Chagall Museum? Ideas for day drive outside of Nice (but not Monaco area) Thanks!

I stayed at the centrally located Florence hotel, right next to the tramway stop. If you book on their website they offer the best rates with half priced breakfast : I don't have any info on uber, since I came by rental... More
