Not the easiest place to get to,but Ok by bus once you get used to their routes. You have to pre book a guided tour on the internet and unfortunately this is only in French ,but nevertheless it is an interesting place with plenty of history eg it was once one of the biggest telescopes in the world and was... We didn't see a single soul on our visit here - maybe the place wasn't even open - who knows? Anyway, we had a prance around the exteriors of the various observatories and enjoyed the overlooks of Nice. Enjoyed ourselves, on our own.

We had a wonderful tour with Frederick as our guide. The tours are given in small groups (we had 14). Our tour guide kindly gave the tour in French and English. The walking is fairly strenuous-stairs and sloped gravel paths to the top of the hill. The observatory is actually composed of multiple domes and is very interesting. The views... More

The place itself is really worth to see, especially the main observatory building with giant telescope. However, public transport goes here only once per hour and the visiting time is only once a day - you need to subscribe first via website for the visit and then you can buy your ticket when arrived at the place. Guides are coming... More

I drove up the windy road and barely avoided a few accidents - parking is limited and is viewed as a contact sport. I loved the views.

For kids and adults, it really is the place to go. Set atop Nice, the views over the Cote D'Azur are worth the admission fee. We went as a group but the kids got in free because the majority of the tour was in French. And, yes, you actually get a scientist who conducts the tour and went out of... More

Only Open to visitors at 2:45 pm every Weds and Saturday. You also need to make sure you reserve places on their website in advance. You can take the bus up the hill or drive up, but there is extremely limited parking nearby. Our tour guide was great. She did the tour both in French and excellent English for our... More

Although we didn't check beforehand, the observatory was closed, and the road to it was blocked, so we can't even see it from the outside or as a viewpoint over Nice - shame.

the walk to the observatory it self is beautiful. A very scenic view of Nice. Very peaceful and a must visit place when in Nice. Don't forget to take the elevator up.

The views were spectacular! I was literally blown away. The sense of calmness and tranquility up there is second to none, However, the staff are not helpful. Everything is french or not at all. So I didn't have a clue what anything was or what they were trying to tell us, I think its a case of if I improve... More
