I found the collection of this lovely chapel turned into a museum, a bit disappointing, especially when compared with the quality of the Musee d Histoire Maritime up the hill.
Le Musee de L Annonciade is however pleasant, and works are well presented, even if only minor works .
I understand that this museum features works by artists who have lived in St. Tropez, but they are far from masterpieces. Pointillism is over represented with Signac. Amongst the best works, a Nude by Bonnard, a paysage by Vlaminck, and some sculptures by Maillol.

Paintings of St Tropez & surroundings by famous artists who lived & painted there. Wonderful to actually see the sites they painted right outside the door.

An impressive museum, which includes artwork from the 19th and 20th centuries. At that time, Saint Tropez was one of the most attractive towns in the eyes of the painters, seeking artistic inspiration in France.

Opening hours: Tuesdays to Sundays from 10am to 6pm.

How long should you visit? Between half an hour and an hour.

This is a small museum, but has an impressive collection of Matisse, Delacroix and Seurat, as well as other impressionists. Many of the paintings of are the local area. The museum is conveniently located in the harbor. Cost was only 6 Euros. Outside, we met the French Chess Champion, Mirsad Hadzikaric, who is also a painter. He lives in St. Tropez.

A must see in St Tropez. A marvellous collection of artists including Signac, Van Dongen, Bonnard, Marquet, Camoin, Malliol, Matisse, Vlaminck and Delacroix to recall a few. And it’s beautifully air-conditioned.

While we could not go inside, the location of the museum (port area) and its exterior beauty captured our eyes!

This is an incredibly interesting and diverse collection. Perhaps the best 6€ museum ever. From impressionist to pointillist it’s so well presented. The Picasso room displaying his ceramics was very good. The building itself is architecturally outstanding.

I saw a Picasso exhibition that was a bit underwhelming. However the location of the gallery is awesome. There are many paintings of other artist who loved painting the local area and successfully captured the light and brilliance of the St Tropez gulf. The price was minimal.

We were not sure about this museum until we walked in. Some excellent paintings on show in a well laid our gallery some of which are on loan from Dunkerque. The stars of the show were the several paintings by Henri Matisse which justified the visit

If you love art, especially Impressionism and even more the "Fauve" painters you have to visit this small exquisite museum. You will be truly impressed.
