Only 30+ minutes from Nice, but more genuine than Eze or St. Paul de Vence---skip those if you are short on time

If you can manage to visit in March or April [perhaps as late as May], this town is clean, well preserved, beautiful with few tourists. I felt like I had been let in on a secret, just 30 minutes from Nice [with all the traffic and unfriendly people, though I speak fluent French]. If I had to choose from never... More

Similar to Eze and St. Paul de vence but in my opinion even prettier. Maybe that's because there were far less tourists but I thought it was even more unspoilt and super pretty. Beautiful cobbled old clean pathways/stairways. Lovely shops. A very pretty hour with the children exploring.

The village of Tourrettes sur Loup is just delicious. The restaurant is quite nice, but the service was quite slow, and the food was really very bland.

Very picturesque little town with typical French small alleys and surprisingly great views. Worth visiting!

We went here on a beautiful Sunday after having toured St. Paul de Vence, and Vence. They are wonderful, but well known by tourists. Tourettes, by contrast, doesn't seem to be well known to tourists, but still has lovely stone streets, and loads of charm.

A little further out in the hills behind the cote d Azure but a great find a quaint and nicely kept little village well worth the trip

We stumbled across this small village but are glad we did. It is steeped in history and the narrow medieval back alleys are a pleasure to explore. It looks like a film set. There are fantastic photo views of the deep valley and countryside as you look over the side of the higgledy piggledy buildings. Well worth a visit...

I've visited this so typical medieval village with E bike Riviera tours from Nice city. It's a very beautiful village not enough known by tourists and it's close to St Paul de Vence where you could also visit Arts foundation and Matisse Chapelle with some of his main paintings. There is also a very good small (and not so expensive)... More

To avoid numerous large groups of tourists following a guide carrying a sign or umbrella, you should visit the many attractions in the South of France well out of their normal season. You may find some of the shops or restaurants are closed, but there will still be plenty available. Tourettes is a medieval town with lots of narrow streets... More
