It took a while to actually enter the cathedral as it was closed for several days, so best check opening times before you go. From the outside, this is a fantastic building and it is worth walking around the whole building as each view is...More

The beauty of the architecture of this Cathedral can be seen from all different angles and you will be impressed for its beauty. Good spot to walk around, have a coffee/gelato.

I visited the church after walking from the Old Port. The church looks different from older churches in Paris and elsewhere around Europe. It reflects how Marseille has been a unique part of France. I was pleasantly surprised to see a European Union flag in...More

This structure seems so out of place with the new buildings like the mucem not far from it. But that is what makes it so spectacular. Worth a walk to go see it with your own eyes.

A gorgeous old church with the sent of the past beautiful on the outside and calm on the inside with many restaurants around with good food. Near the harbor easy to reach a great place to pray and eat.

This huge cathedral is near the port area. The building that is visitable was rebuilt at the end of the 19th century. It is huge both inside and out.

We visited this place during a Shore Excursion handled by Royal Caribbean. Cathedrale de la Major is a nice one and its a historical place.

This is a really massive cathedral. It occupies a lovely and accessible position and fits in well with a visit to Le Panier.

We are going on a family vacation- royal caribbean cruise line - in July and we are stopping in Marseille. Were there many things to do within walking distance from the port? Other than this church, what are other sites to visit that are close to the port? Thanks
