The site is as much the center of this wonderful museum as any of the exhibits. The old fort. The old port. The thousands of years of being a cultural and commercial center. There are even a number of great areas meant simply for lounging,...More

With proof of age (over 65) you receive a reduced entry fee. We were pleasantly surprised how well the exhibits were displayed. An extremely good Egyptian exhibit. Staff was also nice and friendly.

We chanced upon this while exploring the area and had a wander through the complex. Impressive buildings that appear to have been well restored.

One of several institutions located in the stunning Vieille Charité, the Archaeology Museum has a very good collection -especially the Egyptian part- very well displayed. I spent a very enjoyable hour there. Not to be missed when visiting the beautiful Charité.
