If you are waiting on the boat this is a quit nice town to pass some time. Otherwise i would not recommend. Looks like it use to be a beautiful charming town once. Now it is full of kebab places, men hanging on the street...More

we were surprised how much we liked Toulon. on the smaller side (compared to Nice) but more intimate and not so touristic. we liked it a lot and we will come back.

Great for wanderers. The curved streets and limited traffic lead to kids playing ball and locals chatting on the shady side of the street.

Visit Old Town Vieux Ville as it is well worth the time, one thing I love about Europe is there is always an old and a new town so there is a choice. Rustic old buildings, restaurants and shops, statuary interesting sights.

We took the "Petit Train" from the waterfront which took us all over the town. We visited the old town winding through the narrow streets which gave us an insight into life early on.
