There is an excellent daily street market in Toulon that runs for several blocks up the Cours Layfayette beginning at Place Louis Blanc just adjacent to the harbor waterfront . This is reputed to be the best market in Provence (although we previously had found the market in Aix to be very charming, albeit smaller). It has many offering of... More

This market runs every morning (except Monday) from 7.30am to 12.30p.m, at which point it is replaced with a market for clothing, leather goods, CDs, phone cases, and such. The morning food and flower market stretches onto two streets: Cours Lafayette and Rue Paul Lendrin (“Petit Cours”). The morning market also occassionally has souvenir stalls selling olive wood, lavendar, herbes... More

We self toured Toulon, which we found to be not one of the more inspiring or interesting cities in Provence. However, the market at Cours Lafayette was fun to wander through. The market stretches for many blocks from very close to the harbor, with vendors offering a wide range of foods and various merchandise. If you are in toulon, you... More

This local town market lies in the middle of the old town of Toulon near the water. It is a mix of food, clothing, linens and more. The shops lining the market also have similar items. There is bread, cheese, fruit and vegetables. While many of the shop owners were friendly, a few were not. We bought a few linens... More

Cours Lafayette is a street with many uses for cruise tourists. The market stalls begin almost at the start of this pedestrianized street which is perpendicular to the harbor and near the cruise terminal exit. These sellers place their tables along both sides of the street in front of the shops. Even on a Monday, we saw some stalls still... More

This market is a larger version of the Ajaccio market and is located in the center of town near the harbor, Typical good available include meats, cheeses, olives, baked goods and veggies. Limited clothes also here. Worth the stroll and a snack if you are so inclined.

Typical french market with huge selection of fruits and vegetables that would put most British greengrocers to shame. The market is located in a few connected streets near to the city centre and a short stroll from the harbour. Definitely worth a look but don't expect too much variety in the goods for sale. Soak in the atmosphere and enjoy... More

Runs every day until about 1pm. Mainly food - fruit and veg - but with a few clothes and bag sellers tacked on each end. Good for just wandering around taking photos or sit down in café and watch world go by.

Its always lovely when you turn a corner and then you are greeted by an array of colourful fruit, veg and flowers. You well need to be around in the morning as it ends around 1 p.m.
