A bit of a hike to Lac Blanc, but the panoramic views of glaciers and Mont Blanc mountain range on the way are amazing.

We walked from the l´Index cable car station down and it was an amazing and not too much demanding walk. We went to the La Flegere cable car station on our way back. Also not too much exhousting. The lake is beautiful, deep green-blue color.

I started the hike from the top of L'Index chairlift and ended at La Flegere. The views were amazing! Definitely recommend this hike. Go early if you can to avoid crowds. I enjoyed this hike better than the Grand Balcon Nord hike.

The lake is really small and not the star here. Have a beer and freshly baked tart and enjoy the view!

We hiked up here as part of our Alps OffTrack tour organised by Thibaud and his team ( they're on Facebook). The cable car ride from Chamonix was great by itself but then everything just kept getting better. Our hiking up to Lac Blanc took...More

Easily the hardest hike we have ever completed on a very hot and humid day, Signposting leaves something to be desired - just follow the cairns! And it just keeps going up and up! But when you arrive, its all been worth it - truly...More

This is one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen, a glacial lake surrounded by impressive rocky and snowy peaks. I keep going back there to admire it in different seasons to see as many of its colours as possible.

The lake is nice, but very cold all-year round to swim in and there are no facilities such as kanoe or biycles rent, so you should be aware that you need to bring all of your stuff including your food towards the park, that can...More

I didn't see any dogs on the hike and would not attempt it. Some edges are too steep. It would definite be a challenge in my opinion! 🐶🙃

It took us 4.5 hours altogether from when we got on the cable car at flegere to when we returned to Chamonix car park. 3.5 hours were walking between flegere and and Lac Blanc and back.
