This hill was the location of Lyon's original Roman settlement and still is home to ancient ruins from that era.

The view from this location is stunning. You can get incredible pictures of Lyon from here. There is some steps and walking to get there but worth it.

The climb to get up here wasn't particularly enjoyable as it was 37 degrees! But the view of Lyon is worth it

There is the basilica, roman theatre and other attractions. The view of Lyon from the top is fantastic. I recommend visiting while in Lyon.

One takes the funicular up to the top and one gets a wonderful view across Lyon. Of course the Cathedral is the main focus but the view is great

The Greco roman amphitheater and Notre Dame basilica are every bit worth the climb up the hill. The view of Lyon (and beyond) from the top is amazing.

Take the funicular railway up and down, it's steep but the 180 degree views are spectacular and short of climbing to the top of the basilica they're unbeatable. Avoid the cafe's and restaurants up here, over priced and average at best.
