This is a very special walk, and I did it on Palm Sunday, which gave it a special significance. Not for buggies or the faint hearted, the uphill walk leads to a series of little chapels, with life size plaster figures inside depicting the stations of the cross, leading to Christ' s crucifixion. The scenery is stunning, with seating and... More

Stunning views and a unique curiosity. A fairly steep incline leads you up to a series of chapels & churches. Well worth the small detour from the centre of Megève.

Had read about this and keen to do it. Went to tourist office who indicated start by ice rink. Weather warm and initially a slope and numerous steps then continues quite steeply. Definitely not for buggies or anyone with mobility or heart/lung problems . When you reach the first chapels bear left onto the road - we mad the mistake... More

Wonderful view to be seen during a 30 minutes walk starting very close to the city center of the village of Megeve.

You take this route from the village of Megeve just beside the ice rink. It is very unusual. It is also quite tiring as you are walking upwards all the time and it is very twisty. But the views on a clear day are delightful and you pass on route small little churches or prayer houses on the way. It... More

Not a hard walk at all, easy to find in the village, lovely views and trees and chapels. In summer lovely, I imagine no less beautiful in winter. A 20 min walk maximum.

It was built in the 19th century by the priest of this time: Ambroise Martin. He wanted to realize a copy of the calvary of Jerusalem with 14 chapels and oratories to show the Christ's Passion represented by wooden statues. It was a place of pilgrimage. It is a quiet and magnificient walk (less than 1 km) in a gentle slope.... More

Megeve is beautiful. The Chemin du Calvaire is accessible from the town centre. The tourist office people were very friendly and provided a map and information. The trail is a short distance, a bit steep but not far and definitely worth the walk.

The path is not that easy, but the landscape that surround you during all the way is really very beautiful (it was doable even on the very high winter season). The mountain, the cute chapels, the view to the village from the top. It is not a must do in my opinion, but, if you wanna do a break on... More
