I had a pleasant walk along Maximilianstrasse to discover this wonderful little house on a hill overlooking the hill and impressive church opposite. It was tempting to contemplate Brahms wrote his first symphonies and the German Requiem looking at this view every morning. Also someone...More

If you are a musician or classical music lover, this is a priceless visit. Go out of your way if you have to - you will be rewarded with life-long memories. Unlike many sites that have been restored or rebuilt, this is the actual house...More

This house takes some effort and research to get to, but it is well worth a visit. The most helpful directions were on the 'Brahms Society Baden-Baden' website. We took a bus (201) from the Centre in the opposite direction to that of the station...More

I really enjoyed visiting this lovely museum. It is run by dedicated volunteers, many of whom actually saved the building from demolition several years ago-preserving a priceless resource for posterity. The museum is not open every day, so be sure and check the hours to...More

Brahms Museum, very interesting place for those who like the composer. Documents, objects to preserve his memory. I really like to visit composer´s houses and this is one of my prefers.

I usually don’t bother much writing bad reviews, but this was such a disappointment that I can’t help it. As you may know, this is the house where revered composer Johannes Brahms lived for 9 very productive years that yielded, among other things, the Second...More

walked past very early on a Monday morning (gates locked, very little information posted.) This man was a giant of German music, his haunts as a young artist are very interesting to see and understand. Maybe I'll make it back someday when it's open!
