Located in the same place as the Abbey. These ruins are a great stop. If you are looking for something to do on a Sunday since most things are closed this is a great little day outing. If you are looking for budget friendly thing to do this is free. The area is just beautiful. There are no tours or... More

We passed by this place after visiting the old centre of Calw, which is truly a lovely place as well. The Hirsau schloss is impressive to see, already from a distance, as it actually looks quite well preserved but obviously on the main building the roof is missing. Once you come closer you see it's surrounded by a lot of... More

This haunted castle is a must to visit if you are in Calw. It is only 3 km far from the center of Calw and is easily reachable via Cultural train from Calw or following the street behind Kaufland. The walk follows a picturesque road along the river with a view to the forest.

Hirsau is breathtakingly beautiful! The kloster ruins are large, with lots to explore. The rural setting is perfect and adds to the charm. There is just so much to explore and I have visited in the summer, spring, fall and winter, never disappointed. The area is just so beautiful and there are never crowds. This was one of the most... We went to Calw only to see the ruins of the castle. We were really surprised to see that it was probably being used for an outdoor cinema or some performance by night: it was full of piled plastic chairs, various facilities, ugly closed mobile stalls and some plastic cordons around the "stage" area. A disappointing messy and untidy appearance... More

It is located next to the monasterial ruins but as one is securing the ruins again one is not allowed to go inside, a pitty but understandable. It is a big part of the monasterial ruins of Hirsau Abbey. In 1586 - 1592 had the Württemberg Duke Ludwig von Württemberg, had a three wing-Castle in the Renaissance style built next... More
