My visit to Heiligenberg was a surprise and did not disappoint. We ended our visit to Heidelberg here. It was nearly tourist free and had a wonderful few of the city and surrounding forest. I would consider this a hidden treasure.

I'm not sure why they're referring to the bridge here, because this site refers to the mountain on the other side of the river. There's a lot to see there and it's worth the hike up there. Spend a half day up there and take...More

This entire mountain (hill) is great. So much cultural history here, not to mention great terrain for hiking and trail running. This place is one of my favorite in Heidelberg.

Nice walk across the bridge into Heidelberg under the double tower entryway. We were there before Christmas walking around, enjoying the markets and photos at night. Try the restaurants facing the water.

next to this there is a monkey sculpture, stop there for a candid pict, check out the levels of water marked over the years on the bridge's column. Cross and go for a walk, nove view of the castle from here.

Yes the towers are lovely and make for a great photo op, but the real attraction is going out to the middle of the bridge and looking at both halves of the city, just beautiful. When we visited there was a couple taking their wedding...More
