€7 well spent for a return ticket to the castle. We stayed on past the initial castle stop for the views of the city and river, and then walked down to the castle from there. This brought us in through the beautiful and expansive castle...More

It had been a beautiful sunny afternoon right up until we got on the train. Then a storm came in. We could see nothing. But it was still impressive to appreciate the ride and the history of it. I think some people were quite scared,...More

It would have been better if we had visited on a warm day. First of all we just couldn't find the station in the town, so we walked up to the castle, then when we got the train from there and went to the top,...More

Definitely do this if visiting Heidelberg. It's 22 euro for a family ticket for both the old and the new funicular. Use it to get to the castle (the new train) and then you can change onto the old one which takes you to the...More

not a bad experience, the view when we get there was the jackpot so it was worth the wait in line and the overall trip to get there.

This was a great part of our trip to Heidelberg. For 12 Euros you can visit the castle and then get on the older train to visit the King's Chair. 12 Euros for a castle admission and the train trip is a great deal.
