Firstly you have to see it on the hour to get the chimes and full movements, but at any other time it is still a lovely restored clock that should be seen, if in the square.

Total restoration to the whole of the building and Astronomical clock was required after the flattening of Heilbron in 1944. We marvelled as it chimed at the hour, figures, rams and cockerel all animated ,as this is roughly nearly 500 years old,it's the ultimate show piece here.

I love clocks, especially astrological or astronomical clocks. Unfortunately I didn't see it when it struck the hour but it was beautiful all the same. If you only have a short time to visit Heilbronn put this at the top of your list.

Went to Heilbronn on business trip. Very surprised with the market place and the astronomical clock. Very well conserved. Had lunch at the Ratskeller, which I highly recommend.

Lovely sight to see on the hour. But on the 4, 8 and 12 it's the best. The square is pretty and the Rathaus is also very picturesque.

This clock is very intricate and beautiful. It is amazing to consider how old it and the ingenuity that went it to it's creation. I loved sitting in the square by the clock and near Killian's Church, taking in the scenery and enjoying a cup...More
