Liking good quality sound at a concert, I was not disappointed. This concert hall has the finest acoustics I have experienced in many a long year. The musicians were playing mainly strings. The quality of each instrument was audible, there was no need for any amplification (there was none). The seating is arranged so that everyone upstairs has an almost... More

I always wanted to go to the theater, and I finally got my wish. Even though it was a childrens' play that we went to, there were enough adult jokes to make me happy. (but this isn't a review of the play, so...) The audience stools were odd (each one was balance on one leg, and at least two or... More

2015 it has got the award 'opera of the year'. I don't know about the drama, because I never go to drama, but for me,living in Mannheim, I#m very happy too have this orchestra and these singers. We often visit Operas around the world, like some of them very much, but germany has this tax subsidized system so the entrance... More

We were very lucky to have three great opera performances here. Last year this theater was the number one by Opernwelt. They have excellent orchestra and excellent singers. Regie is also exceptional. We just loved it!

Opera and theatre have a very long tradition in Mannheim, a place where Mozart and Schiller have worked as well! Most productions are at least solid, the orchestra is excellent, the ballet shows a lot of modern and amazing productions. Personally I prefer the opera. Old stools are a handicap, particularly in long acts. But a visit is always worthwile!

it picked up "light years" since my school days, when i found myself leaving half way through a play, but these days i must commend it for its modern take on classics as well as a interesting selection of contemporary international playwrights, not just during "Theater der Welt" (outstanding!) this year - otherwise I've seen several, from Shakespeare & Moliere... I went to the national theater to see the opening of a ballet show. It was definitely worth the admission that I paid. The waiting area for the intermission is very nice, but the theater room itself where the stage is set, was very small and made a lot of noise. There were other theaters in this building, and as... I was here to see ''Das Rhein Gold'' (Wagner). Nice theater. there are Opera and Lirica. This theater is one of the most important theater in Germany. There is a great discount for students: 6 tickets for 42 euros (with ecum card). Sono stato qui a vedere il ''Das Rhein Gold'' di Wagner. Bel teatro che fa opera e lirica.... More

'Der Idiot', an opera based on the Dostoievsky novel, was composed in 1986, but in its complete version had to wait until Mannheim in May 2013 to receive its world premiere. It was a brilliant production, magnificently sung. Judging from the forthcoming performances announced for three departments of this theatre, there is truly something for every audience - young and... More
