This church was damaged during World War II but has been completely restored. The architecture is a composite from different ages which makes it truly unique. It's obviously a much loved church by the populace.

We were touring the Christmas Market in Schillerplatz and decided to give this church a look see. The interior is nothing special but the exterior provided a great backdrop for photos of the colorful Christmas market. This was especially so at dusk with the multi colored sky as the sun set.

Built in the early 12th century it was destroyed in 1944 during World War II. It was rebuilt in 1958. Lots of stain glass windows and much of the construction used original stone. Was a Catholic Church but changed to Evangelical. There is an admission charge to help with continued renovation. Very active church in the community

We did not actually go inside the church but walked by and enjoyed the view and the small peaceful square that it is located in. Worth passing by.

A mix of Ancient modern historical church, charming character. medieval outer architecture, apparently damaged a lot in WW11 and subsequently rebuilt portion is the modern part, very contrasting and pleasant feel, beautiful stained glass.

This is a beautiful looking church that has been rebuilt to resemble a medieval church that was originally built here! Apparently one of the few historical churches.

THE COLLEGIATE CHURCH OF THE HOLY CROSS is one stunning looking church in an area with the best architecture in Stuttgart. I love to visit the main tourist site's of any city i visit and this area was at the very top of my list of place's to visit. Stuttgart was reduced to rubble during WW2 and this church did'nt... Arguably the most beautiful church in Stuttgart. Located on the most beautiful square in Stuttgart it is one of the architectorial icons of a city that is poor of architectorial beauty. Especailly the two completely differently designed towers make it interesting. The church was havily destroyed in WW2 and rebuilt in a simplified, but still beautiful way, using some of... More
