This small palace is part of the Oberschleissheim complex, renovated in the 1970s from its original purpose (a hunting lodge) as the appropriate place to house the most remarkable collection of Meissen porcelain second only to the one in Dresden. One is struck by the sheer extent, variety as well as the richness of the collection, very helpfully displayed. Lovers... More

This palace is part of the Schleissheim Palace Complex and was built as a romantic hunting lodge and love nest. It has beautiful ceiling frescos and state rooms, but its main attraction is the Meissen Porcelain Collection, which is exquisite. A visit will not disappoint!

Lovely bavarian castle and gardens, with a small canal with a gondola. Hughe property, similar tyle like Nynphenburg Schloss. Quite and romantic

The main hall of this small Schloss is a very intricate space. Although I always skip any porcelain displays whenever I go around historic houses (I am not into Meissen), it was a very good display that felt very educational. Don't miss the downstairs space. Although I barely speak a word of German, the staff here were very helpful. It... More

It was a rainy day, and what to do while in Munich? I decided to visit the Lustheim Palace, and was pleasantly surprised: well kept, and in a lovely setting: in the Gardens of the Palace of Schleissheim, and with a fabulous porcelain collection, telling the history of how porcelain was developed and nurtured in its first days in Europe,... This palace was down the hill from Schleissheim Palace....nice pictures and views from outside....however the inside houses a rather extensive collection of Meissen porcelain.....the cost of entry was only a couple of euros i think....if porcelain is your thing it would be a must stop.
