There is a best way to go round this museum which covers Liszt's life and in that way you get the best out of it. The showcases have no English subtitles, but most exhibits are self explanatory. The last room is probably the most interesting...More

The museum located next to Wahnfried and cheaper than the Wahnfried. They don't have ant brochure in English but it was OK anyway. It was great to see Lizst's personal things and infos in the museum.

The museum is small but very educational with complete descriptions for the items on show (Non-German speakers can buy a small guide in English or French for the exhibits) and one can go around the museum to the music of Liszt (ask at the front...More

This was the house, very near Hous Wahnfried that Liszt lived when visiting Wagner. It did not belong to him. Liszt was a celebrity during Wagners life, he made lots of money and helped Wagner on a number of occasions. He also had 2 long...More

Not so well-known perhaps, but Bayreuth is the town where Wagner's father-in-law has passed away (Wagner himself died in Venice a decade earlier). The house in which this has taken place is now the Liszt museum that can (should !) be visitied on a combined...More

I would have given five stars to this absolutely amazing museum, but the lack of sanitary facilities (as well as lockers) was actually a problem. There was, luckily, a place to store umbrellas. The neighboring Wagner and Jean Paul museums will not let you use...More

The Liszt Museum is just opposite of the Wagner Museum and it almost looks a little neglected next to is neighbour. It´s small and a bit old-fashioned but I loved it that way. Very informative overview of Liszt´s life and works. Good to visit on...More

It is a really nice little lake in the middle of the city but as well it is a quite and enjoyable place for having a walk, for sitting down and reading a book or just for slow-down the speed of life.

Attended an absolutely wonderful matinee performance and was amazed by the quality of the performance. A wonderful venue and the MC also introduced performances in English to our delight

This tiny, intimate museum, located in the flat where Liszt spent his final weeks, is a jewel. He was visiting his daughter Cosima (and, naturally, her husband, Richard Wagner) during the summer festival period but didn't leave alive.
