Visiting as a group of spiritually and mentally open people, ( an international gathering of Diana Cooper Foundation teachers) we were able to have the healing salt cave to ourselves. The welcome and atmosphere, explanation of the background of salt mine healing and its benefits was inspiring. It is low light and chilly, a steady 12 degrees, so wear warm... More

Well thought out tour that gives you a good description of the salt mining history and how the process works. If you don't like being underground, don't go. Otherwise, it's well worth it. You ride a train into the mine, slide down 2 slides, take a small, slow boat ride across the water with a light show, and ride an... More

Go in the morning because there can be a big queue. It is a worthwhile visiting. The kids will love it. Don't go if you are claustrophobic. I think 5 euros for the photograph in the slopes is a good value for memories! You can take your own pictures in the entrance with the special uniforms on.

Fun way to learn something about how the region became so rich. German guide (but a multilingual audio device is provided free), miners trains, wooden slides, some silly light and sound effects (but the kids seem to like them so...) Photography verboten, alas.

We planned to go to the salt mine on a rainy day as it's a great indoor activity until the weather clears. You put on miner's coveralls, ride the train down and even go down a few wooden slides to fully get into the mine. The best part for us was the light show at the underground lake.

We got a combo tkts for Eagle Nest and Salt mines, we arrived at Salt mines got our tickets for a schedule time, we waited maybe 30 mins. We enjoyed the train and slides very much, they gave us a audio tour also. I really liked the tour

We stopped to go in and lay for a couple hours inhaling the slat air, fell asleep under blankets and warm water bottles. Bring a warm hat and headphones for music. Wish I could go every week. Bought some salt to take home to the USA
